JOIN THE WESTIE RESCUE SCHEME BY BECOMING A FRIEND TODAY!

FACT: On average over 250/300 Westies pass through Westie Rescue Every Year!

Once a Westie has been received into our care we ensure that the dog(s) are in a fit state to find a new permanent home.
We also ensure:

  • Westies have inoculations brought up-to-date when & where necessary
  • Westies that are considered to be in poor health are nursed back to full health
  • Westies have their coats restored and skin conditions treated & improved where necessary

As you may know, the above care all costs money and along with the costs of:

  • Transport
  • Kennelling
  • Feeding
  • Veterinary bills
  • Telephone calls and so on

The final costs can quickly mount. Therefore we desperately need people to lend their support by becoming "FRIENDS OF WESTIE RESCUE".

When you become a Friend of Westie Rescue you are directly contributing to aid future rescued Westies. But it does not stop there. By becoming a 'Friend', you will receive a packed quarterly charity newsletter containing information on rescued dogs, fundraising events and 'Friends' letters.

Joining the scheme costs just £10.00 per annum (currently by cheque). If you would like to join and give your support to the charity then please email the scheme or alternatively complete the relevant form(s) linked below.

It is also at this stage where the skills of a behaviourist are utilised in order to assess any of the westies who may require it.

Where a Westie is deemed to be or have a problem - we will work tirelessly to ensure it is both fully understood and corrected. Whether this is through training, medication or through employing the skills of a behaviourist.

How You Could Help To Rehome A Rescued Westie

In order to accurately rehome a Westie we work using an application form system so that we can hopefully match the right Westie with the right new owners. To date we have consistently achieved a successful rehoming record of over 97%.

If you are interested in rehoming a Westie and you are resident in the UK then please contact our Scheme's , or alternatively complete this form*. Please return all adoption application forms to the Lead Coordinator: The Westie Rescue Scheme, Graham Edwards, 79b Greenfrith Drive, Tonbridge, Kent, TN10 3LH.

Many of the Westies that come to us are dogs that do not like being left on their own. Additionally, many of the Westies that come into our care do so because they are not good with young children. We therefore DO NOT REHOME WHERE THE WESTIE WOULD BE LEFT ALONE DURING THE WORKING DAY OR WITH FAMILIES THAT HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN OR WHERE YOUNG CHILDREN FREQUENTLY VISIT. Please DO NOT complete an adoption form if you do not fulfil this criteria.

We really appreciate all the support that we receive and your donation and request to become a "FRIEND OF WESTIE RESCUE" will be gratefully received.
